WFW: The A-B-C Poster

Description

"This revolution is brought to you by the letter W..."

My dear friend from Spain *Iluvendure and I have been brainstorming for a few months on a project that was originally intended to be little that suddenly exploded into something HUUUUGE! This was a result of our own natural outcry to the creative downfall that has ruined the Muppet franchise (and, as a result, our childhood memories): It is a tragicomedy "re-telling" of Alan Moore and David Lloyd's V for Vendetta (with a little George Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm and Aldous Huxley's Brave New Word thrown in) with Muppets (of Muppet Show, Sesame Street, etc), which we titled as — W for Whatever!

Taking place in the not-so-distant future where Humans and Muppets co-exist, a fascist party has taken over the world, exterminating the "undesirables" from it and forcing "political correctness" upon its populace. A mysterious anarchist/terrorist/revolutionary who wears a mask with permanent smile and a large nose known only as "W" begins an elaborate, violent, and theatrical campaign to murder his enemies, bring down the government, and convince the people to rule (and think) for themselves.

This poster should be familiar if one is familiar with V for Vendetta. It's based off the "Strength through Purity, Purity through Faith" poster from the graphic novel and "Strength through Unity, Unity through Faith" poster from the 2006 film. Our poster for W for Whatever was very specific: We wanted an A-B-C theme to this yet, at the same time, have it remain powerful as a propaganda piece but sinister in its connotations: Therefore, we came up with "ALLEGIANCE through BROTHERHOOD, CONFORMITY, and DIRECTION" — A-B-C-D (or "A-B-C Poster" for short, which includes the symbol of the party upon a pair of angel wings)! References are from "Wanted Paper Texture" by `dholms and "Grungy Paper Texture" by ~bashcorpo, as well as a generic "V for Vendetta logo".

We don't want to give too much away for now, but we hope to soon. We're not sure as of yet if it's going to be a web-comic, or a written story with illustrations, or a mix of both, or what-have-you... (Celebrating the fact that I have Photoshop again! I missed you so!)

So, looks like I'm not the only one that noticed Sesame Street is a little too perfect now. Granted, they are just muppets--it's not as if the same thing is happening in every form of entertainment that cares about being "friendly".
