Whoreschachs of the world unite! Hurrahhh!

This is for my friend, Lady Rorschach. She and I are part of the infamous "Whoreschach Club" on the forums of WatchmenComicMovie.com. With the release of the new Watchmen: Portraits and Watchmen: The Art of the Film in bookstores, we have both been thrilled at the amount of Walter Kovacs (aka "mask-less" Rorschach) photos that have been pouring in, since WB has been doing their best to hide his "mask" to the public for some time, and she requested a drawing from me of "Walter Kovacs in a wife-beater and prison pants smoking a cigarette in the janitor's closet." And here it is!

(I tried to model him after actor Jackie Earle Haley of the upcoming Watchmen film — because she and I both agree that he's HAWT! Messed up on his hand though, grrrr! But, at least, it explains where the voice came from, doesn't it?)

Good job on the pic. It is kinda weird to see him smoking, but that doesn't mean it's a bad pci because of it. I'm glad your friend liked it.:)

LOL! This is really cool:)! Love the freckles *squee*!!!

But personally, i've never--ok the little time i have of knowing him-- pictured him as a smoker...he's such a self-neglect case i don't see him having such a habit, plus, how would he afford them *ponders*

I have always have wanted to picture him like that, being a smoker myself, to just to have something in common with him --i know, how pathetic--but no, i just don't see him compromising his health, his cause, with that either, same goes for drinking... nope he sticks to canned beans and sugar cubes i guess :XD:

The drawing was a "challenge" piece. "Please have Walter in a wifebeater smoking...." "I'll do it because it sounds hawt!" :XD:

Do I personally believe Walter is a smoker or a drinker? No, I don't. He's just not that type of guy. It's a playful way to explain the grouchy voice Haley gives him. He may not drink or smoke, but he'll skip a few showers and hide his clothes in a dumpster. Silly Kovacs!

Yup, i like the voice theory......i've run into that clip of Alan Moore reading a bit of Rorschach in the novel and his voice is just as grouchy :XD:...

LOL! Yeah, I like that clip where Alan Moore "talks" Rorschach. It's neat, but I prefer the voice in the film and the Motion Comics, where the grouchiness sounds natural instead of forced, like the way Moore does it.

Yup, I was so freakin' surprised the first time i ever heard Jackie speaking normally...i don't know how long i laughed, but then i just fell into amazement, how fuckin cool that he changed it so much=D!But you know, in the bit where Rorschach's in Daniel's basement-after the human bean juice bit, before he reproaches him about quitting- when he looks up to tell him "You're hiding in plain sight..." his voice kinda breaks and doesn't sound so hoarse :love: I loved it, dunno why...:XD:

Well, apparently, Jackie had to SCREAM before takes to prepare his voice. After a while, it does tear out his throat, but behold the magic of VOICE OVER!

When Kovacs talks with the psychologist, his voice seems more natural. I suppose this is because he's not muffled by the mask, but he sounds very different in that scene than he does in the beginning: "Hello, Daniel. Help myself to some beans. Hope you don't mind." Hurm.
