I went to A-Kon 20 last weekend. I was working there for a vendor friend of mine and I played hookie on Saturday. I dressed up as Rorschach, again, with a brand-new "face" (because I lost my old "face" and made this new one at two in the morning before the event)! I got glomped a lot, I broke a few fingers, burned up, and took a few ultra-random photos.

"Team Venture. Seems more like a publicity exercise. A flabby failure who sits whimpering in his basement. Not here for the ink."

Rusty Venture!

Now where are Hank and Dean?
:iconmlle-relda:
I asked him that. And he went, "Pffft, hell if I know! In a ditch somewhere!" :XD:

He was great! I asked him, "So where are your boys?" And he went, "Pfftt, hell if I know! In a ditch somewhere..." It was so in-character that I busted out laughing. Rorschach laughing? Yeah...

This so makes me want to write a cross-over. If I was into writing those. It could be good. Rorschach could slip in among the madness of the venture-verse quite well.

I see the chronology of comicdom something like this: Golden age comics create the genre > The Watchmen subverted the genre by asking, "What if it were real?" > The Tick answered the Watchmen's Question by saying, "I think it would be a little more wacky." > and the Venture Brothers said, "Wacky, sure, but also kind of fucked up, too."

So, I mean, the two stories are born out of classic comics. They just subvert them in different ways.

I can totally imagine that Rorschach and Jonny Quest would get on well, perhaps Rorschach would want to rescue the Venture Boys from the clutches of an amphetamine abusing, neglectful father. Or perhaps they would get on well enough.

HA-HA! I'm not the only one with intentions of strange Rorschach crossovers! BRWHAHAHAHA! (runs around in victory) HA-HA! :strip:

Interesting idea. I'd like to see how Rorschach would do, in-character, in the Golden Age of Comics. Would he be any happier with cleaner streets, white-bread Middle America ideals, the silly antics of villainary, bumbling cops, and no-nonsense superiourity of masks, and the know-it-all government of comic-dom....ON ACID!?!?!
